Norman was paired with the writer Rebecca Dowman for the Common Place project.
Norman: A poem and an etching are very, very similar in that you don't want anything extraneous; you just want to be to-the-point and to do it elegantly.
Dursey Island, by Rebecca Dowman
When Cow Rock was erased by fog and spray
And around peat fires in
They talked again of how waves stole the lighthouse
Then came back for the men.
When the mainland felt as distant as those ancients
Who’d raised the stones to stand,
Or dolphins threading Dursey door in soft summer sun,
This island was the world.
