Chloé Bocquet is a young and emerging artist who trained at the Fine Arts Academy (Beaux - Arts) in Le Mans, the Moret Studio, Paris and the Graphics Department of the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst, Leipzig. She has exhibited at Excellence of Youth 2016, Great Suffolk, Le Salon des Réalités Nouvelles 2017, Paris, and at the Woolwich Print Fair 2017, London.
Bocquet's work is first and foremost rooted in the tenets of colour and space. Utilising woodblocks, aquatint, linocuts or paint, Bocquet constructs her works by superimposing colour and magnifying its vibrancy. The results lead to formation of fragmented spaces: overlaps of colour create walls that appear to float on the whiteness of the paper, simultaneously elusive and solid in character. Chloé states: "In my prints my colours are like apparitions, I like to think of those coloured surfaces as if they are in movement, as if they are glowing like light - and little by little, one print after another, my prints capture this micro movement".
Chloe Bocquet lives and works in Le Mans, France.
