Susie's art emboldens and celebrates women, depiciting subjects who are fearless, spirited and undeniably chic: their luminous presence is accentuated by simple elegant lines, flat planes of colour, patterned fabrics and halos of light that give the impression of being backlit by radiant sunshine.
At the heart of 'Finding the Line' lies a profound meditation on balance - between work and motherhood, individuality and community, self-fulfilment and the care of others. Susie's recent experiences as a mother to young children have transformed her sense of self, and inspired a deep exploration of the many roles women inhabit. Through her vibrant artworks, Susie asserts the importance of claiming space for joy, rest, and creativity.
