Orphée (Orpheus) is a 1950 film directed by Cocteau, Set in contemporary Paris, it starred Jean Marais in the title role and Marie Déa as Eurydice. Hugely influential, it is the basis for Philip Glass's stage opera of the same name, with the libretto taken directly from Cocteau's screenplay.

Written in 1943, L'Aigle a Deux Têtes (The Eagle with Two Heads) was first performed in 1946 and starred Jean Marais as Stanislas the assassin. The film, directed by Cocteau and also starring Marais, was released in 1948.
