Eames Fine Art is delighted to welcome Andrew Marr back to the gallery for his fifth exhibition, showcasing new drawings that burst with colour, energy and ingenuity.
"The subjects in my work range from places I have visited, particularly Scotland and France, to pulsing internal landscapes fed by dreams and reading. Modern physics reminds us that the world is deeply different from its passing appearance. The internal shape of a thought, a day or a moment cannot be captured by the conventions of representational art and that obliges all of us trying to make pictures, to find our own ways. These over the past year, have been mine." - Andrew Marr 2025

"The work of making pictures occupies my thoughts almost every day. I don’t believe that small scale implies modest ambition, however.
It is perfectly easy to have big adventures and take bold decisions across a relatively small piece of white paper. "

"I remain as interested in the texture of a picture as ever and have allowed water to pool and cascade through some of these pictures. In each case, perhaps the biggest challenge is shape, or as I prefer to think of it, the rhythm of colour and line across a stark white ground. Failure of rhythm always means a complete pictorial failure; but at the same time, just as in music, you don’t want to repeat a rhythm for long. Like a song collection, every picture is a fresh start, with a different chord and a different shape. "Andrew Marr, 2025
