Ross Loveday’s prints are renowned for their subtle abstraction, atmospheric colour, and meditative surfaces. Working in carborundum — a technique that combines the painterly and the sculptural — Loveday builds richly textured plates that hold intense pigment, creating prints of remarkable depth and resonance.
This exhibition places Ross’ work within the vibrant lineage of carborundum printmaking pioneered by Joan Miró, and later explored by John Hoyland and Howard Hodgkin.
