Our most ancient trees have been alive for thousands of years. They have lived through seismic changes in their landscapes, ecosystems, and climate - and they bear witness to those changes in their rings.

Blaze Cyan produced ten engravings to illustrate essays by dendrochonologists, discussing the most ancient trees found on our planet, bound together in editor Valerie Trouet's book In the Circle of Ancient Trees. Blaze beautifully depicts each unique tree in fine and delicate detail, their knarled trunks and reaching canopys engraved into woodblock, capturing their timeless existence.
From these illustrations, Blaze has produced a numbered edition of prints, available both as individual works, and as a folio set of ten.
Join us in the studio this weekend to view these magnificent prints, and from 11am - 2pm on Saturday 25 you can meet Blaze and enjoy discussing her process, craft, and fascination with the behemoths of our natural world.

In the end, the joy is not just in the finished image, but in the alignment between subject, material, and method—a slow, attentive process that feels, in its own way, like sitting beneath the canopy of something very old and very alive.- Blaze Cyan
