Anita Klein | Summer in the City

11 August - 5 September 2021

The exhibition runs from Thursday 12th August - 5th September in the Eames Fine Art Gallery, with a Private View on Wednesday 11th from 6pm.

"I think that recently we’ve all realised so much more, how important the ordinary moments of our everyday lives are. Spending time with our families and loved ones, the freedom to be with the people we care about and to go to the places we enjoy are what make us who we are. Contact with the people we love is what makes us human. I make the art that I do because I am always aware of the precariousness of everyday life and the need for gratitude - I count my blessings for the intimate relationships I have with my family and the great pleasure I get from my familiar, everyday life.

I want to make something enduring out of something fleeting. I paint to celebrate and to hang on to these precious moments which we hardly notice in our day-to-day lives, and in fact, I think that the more ordinary these moments seem, the more important they actually are."
