Chris Roantree and Akarsh Kummattummal are a London-based collaborative duo focused on printmaking. Together they create wondrous, unsettling and beguiling images of imagined re-wilded landscapes. Eames Fine Art is delighted to welcome them to the Print Room for their first exhibition with the gallery.
'We were brought up with disaster movies, emerging technologies, special effects and comic books. We now combine these popular culture influences with a deep respect, or love, for landscape – which has generally been a reoccuring theme for artists for hundreds of years. I suppose that when you consider all the different influences that made us in terms of our visual upbringing, we were never going to make typical landscape images.'
